I honestly had a difficult time reading the article. I felt like it could have been written better or more organized for an easier understanding; I had to read it multiple times to understand it. Anyways I think the point of the article was to introduce us to Net.art and teach us some history about the internet related to the development of Net.art. Learning about Net.art and the beginning of e-mail, texts and images, just relates so much to how the internet is used today I feel like. The use of social media and the different platforms that an individual can express themselves on is insane. Some examples that pop to mind are; Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest, DeviantArt, and TikTok (Vine doesn’t exist anymore). I honestly can’t believe a, “software glitch that occurred in December 1995, when Slovenian artist Vuk Cosic opened an anonymous e-mail only to find it had been mangled in transmission” and was able to only make out the word Net.art and then turned it into an online art and community. I find it so interesting that in the early stages of the internet that corporations were not yet invested in the internet market; knowing that in the current internet big corporations play a big role. I also found it interesting that Eastern Europe and Russia played a big role in the early years of the artistic medium. Overall I learned a lot from the article and found it interesting to learn about the origin of Net.art.
