My plan for Project 1 is to make a penguin in Blender. I would love to be able to 3D print the penguin at scale. I also could potentially use it at the end of the semester show. I also would love a cute miniature to have in my apartment. At first, I didn’t know how to start. But then I started by looking at many different types of videos on YouTube of penguins and picked one. I am watching a tutorial and following along with the steps they are making in the video but making the penguin how I want it to look not an exact copy of the video I was following. The video starts with just a sphere and the building of the sphere. So I started by making shapes to form the penguin, using the spheres, to shape and reform them into flippers, feet, eyes, and a beak. Then you start to sculpt the penguin in sculpting mode. This has been the most difficult part of the process so far. There are a lot of shortcut keys and extensions from the internet that I learned and added to help. It also requires me to pay attention to the video in more detail with the added shortcuts and extensions to help make the penguin shape smooth. The next step is to render it and possibly animate it if I have time. I would prefer to have it 3D printed and scaled down to see if I need to start at scale.
